About SenegalLII

SenLII (Senegal Legal Information Institute) is a free access to law platform dedicated to making Senegalese legislation and case law freely available to everyone.

The platform was developed for the Ordre des Avocats du Sénégal by Laws.Africa and AfricanLII, with financial support from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

Access to the law is a fundamental right. SenLII is grounded in the principle that every citizen, legal professional, public institution, and business should be able to access and understand the laws that govern Senegal.

SenLII aims to (i) provide free, open, and permanent access to Senegalese legal materials, (ii) enhance transparency and legal certainty, (iii) support legal professionals, researchers, students, and the public, (iv) contribute to the digital transformation of Senegal’s legal ecosystem.

Strengthening the rule of law

By improving access to reliable and structured legal information, SenLII helps to:

  • strengthen trust in public institutions
  • improve the efficiency of the justice system
  • support economic activity and investment
  • empower citizens to understand and exercise their rights
